How to Set Up IPTV on LG Smart TV

April 29, 2026 • 5 min read

LG Smart TVs run webOS, which does not natively support third-party IPTV APKs. However, LG does have a developer mode that allows you to sideload apps, and there is also a dedicated IPTV app available through the LG Content Store.

Option 1 – SS IPTV from the LG Content Store

SS IPTV is available for free directly from the LG Content Store:

  1. Press the Home button on your LG remote and open the LG Content Store.
  2. Search for SS IPTV and install the app.
  3. Open SS IPTV. On the welcome screen, select Playlist → Add.
  4. Enter your Vivmate 4K M3U playlist URL using the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Confirm and wait for channels to load — this typically takes 30–60 seconds.

Option 2 – Developer Mode Sideloading

If you need a more powerful IPTV player like TiviMate on LG:

  1. Enable LG Developer Mode: go to Settings → About → TV Information and press 0, 5, 0, 5 on the remote to open the developer menu.
  2. Register for an LG Developer account at developer.lge.com.
  3. Use the Dev Manager app to sideload the IPTV APK of your choice via your local network.

Note: Developer mode requires renewal every 50 hours of runtime.

Option 3 – Use a Streaming Stick

The simplest long-term solution is to plug a Firestick or Chromecast with Google TV into one of your LG TV's HDMI ports. This gives you full Android/Fire OS app support, including TiviMate, with no LG restrictions.

Best Settings for LG IPTV Playback

  • Disable LG's TruMotion (motion smoothing) for a natural picture on live sports.
  • Enable Cinema Mode for the most accurate colour reproduction.
  • Use a wired Ethernet connection for uninterrupted 4K HDR streams.
