How to Install IPTV on Roku

April 29, 2026 • 5 min read

Roku runs its own closed operating system (Roku OS), which does not support Android APKs or standard IPTV apps like TiviMate. However, there are workarounds that allow you to enjoy IPTV on Roku.

Method 1 – The Roku Channel Store

Roku has a limited selection of IPTV-compatible channels. Search the Roku Channel Store for:

  • Streamer for M3U / IPTV – a basic M3U player available on the Channel Store.
  • IPTV+ (Persistent) – simple M3U playlist player with channel list display.

These apps are basic compared to TiviMate, but they do allow you to load an M3U URL and browse channels.

Method 2 – Screen Mirror from Phone or PC

All Roku devices support screen mirroring from Android phones and Windows PCs:

  1. On your Android phone, open IPTV Smarters Pro and start playing a channel.
  2. Pull down the notification shade and tap Cast / Screen Mirror.
  3. Select your Roku device from the list.
  4. Your stream will mirror to the TV at full resolution.

Method 3 – Use a Streaming Stick Instead

If IPTV is your primary use case, consider replacing the Roku with an Amazon Firestick or Chromecast with Google TV. Both offer far better IPTV support, with TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro working natively. The Firestick 4K Max is particularly well-suited for IPTV at £55/$60.

Tips for Roku IPTV Streaming

  • Use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network or Ethernet adapter for buffer-free streaming.
  • If screen mirroring, keep your phone plugged in — continuous streaming drains battery quickly.
Thinking of upgrading from Roku?

Vivmate 4K works perfectly on Firestick, Android TV, and Apple TV — all with TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
