How to Set Up IPTV on Kodi
Kodi is one of the most powerful open-source media centres available. With the built-in PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on, you can turn Kodi into a full IPTV hub with live TV, EPG (programme guide), recordings, and catch-up support.
Supported Platforms
Kodi runs on nearly every platform: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Firestick, Raspberry Pi, and more. The IPTV setup process is identical across all platforms.
Step 1 – Enable PVR IPTV Simple Client
- Open Kodi and go to Add-ons → My Add-ons → PVR clients.
- Select PVR IPTV Simple Client.
- Click Enable. If you do not see it, go to Add-on browser and search for it.
Step 2 – Configure the Add-on with Your M3U URL
- After enabling, click Configure.
- Under the General tab, change the M3U playlist location to Remote Path (Internet Address).
- Paste your Vivmate 4K M3U URL into the M3U playlist URL field.
- Go to the EPG Settings tab and set your XMLTV URL if provided.
- Click OK and restart Kodi.
Step 3 – Navigate to Live TV
After restarting, go to TV → Channels from the Kodi home menu. Your channels will be organized by the groups defined in your M3U playlist. The EPG will populate within a few minutes.
Improve Kodi IPTV Performance
- Install the Inputstream Adaptive add-on for better HLS and DASH stream handling.
- In Kodi System settings, set the video buffer size to 30 MB for smoother playback.
- Use a fast SSD or USB 3.0 drive for Kodi's cache directory to reduce buffering.
Best Kodi Skins for IPTV
The default Kodi skin (Estuary) works well for IPTV. For a more TV-like interface, try Aeon Nox or Madnox which display channel logos and EPG grids more prominently.
50,000+ live channels, full EPG data, and 130,000+ VOD titles — all ready for Kodi's PVR client.
